The 2018 Fandango Day's Celebration is set for July 6th and 7th and the Alturas Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that this years theme for our huge festivity is "Hats off to America".
On June 30th your child will get the opportunity to participate in the annual "Little Mr. and Miss Fandango Contest which will be held at the Niles Theatre at 3:00 p.m. Check-in time will be at 2:30 p.m. The winners of the competition will get to ride in the Fandango Days parade as well as ride in our annual "Parade of Lights" festival in December. Certain age restrictions do apply.
If you'd like to enter your child into the competition, you must first fill out an application and submit it to the locations listed on the application by June 22nd in order to participate. You can print out an application by clicking here.
The Fandango Day's festivities will kick-off with a tasty barbeque on July 6th from 5 - 9 p.m. at Cal Pines Lodge and Restaurant followed by their spectacular and breathtaking fireworks display after dark. This is your opportunity to bring the whole family out for an evening of fun and excitement
The Fandango Day's Parade will kick-off on Saturday, July 7th down Main Street in Alturas starting at 10:30 a.m. followed by a full day of family fun and entertainment at Veteran's Memorial Park. This years music and all-out entertainment will be provided by Harry Boulade and Golden Rose Productions. This is a show you won't want to miss!!
Last week, the Alturas Chamber of Commerce made their selection for our Fandango Day's Grand Marshall, and this year it was of great honor to have selected Judge Guy Martin Young to fill that position. His many years of contribution and commitment to our community did not go unnoticed.
